Frequently Asked Questions - Weddings

Q: On my wedding day can I request my cameraperson stay longer than our original agreement?
A: Yes, it’s $45 per 15 minutes. However, if you haven't contracted for the coverage in advance, your cameraperson may be unable to stay due to other obligations. The cameraperson will first approach the bride regarding overtime.

Q. Do you use lights during the ceremony?
A: Not normally unless an area is too dark. Good video requires adequate lighting so obviously the brighter your ceremony the brighter the video.

Q. Do you record the entire first dance & father-daughter dance?
A. Normally we record the first 90 seconds with camera lighting but not the entire first dance unless you specifically request us to.

Q. When will my cameraperson contact me?
A. Your cameraperson will call you by Tuesday prior to your wedding to confirm times and locations. This is a good time to discuss any final concerns or requests about your recording coverage.

Q. What will my cameraperson(s) wear?
A. Our camera operators dress tastefully in a dress (female), or (male) a suit or tux. If you wish specific clothing, contact us early with the request.

Q. When is my music and other production information due? In what format should the music be submitted, do I have to submit any music?
A. Your music & other production information are due 3 weeks prior to your wedding.
- Normally we don't use all of your music. During editing we try to pull music from your ceremony & reception, which is more natural. Your music provides us a back up. However, we generally use music submitted for the opening photomontage and closing slow-motion summary.
- You should submit your music on CDs.
- You don't have to submit any music.

Q. Can you ship my tapes, photos, and music when completed?
A. Yes. COD, insuring, shipping and handling charge is $15.

Q. When is the final payment due?
A. Your final payment is due when the editing is complete.

Q. When will my tape be finished?
A. 10 - 14 weeks. During the busy season it may take the full 14 weeks.

Q. On average, how long is the edited tape? The unedited footage?
A. Edited tapes average 90 minutes. The unedited (raw) footage averages 2 hours. Studio raw footage is erased 16 weeks after your wedding. Digital edited footage is deleted 2 weeks following customer pick up.

Q. What do you edit out?
A. We shorten the clergyman’s sermon, prayers, blessings, singing, readings & communion. If there is a particular event or song you don't want shortened or deleted then you should inform us in writing & attach an explanation with your production form due three weeks prior to your wedding. If you desired, you can request the keep the entire ceremony on edited version or you can purchase the raw footage.

Q. May I make editing requests after the wedding, but before the editing process begins?
A. Yes. We will do our best to accommodate any written requests. However, unless you specifically asked your cameraperson to film something special, the raw footage you may be interested in preserving may not be available.

Q. Can I make changes after the editing starts?
A. Yes. Studio time is $180 an hour with a minimum of 1 hour and can take up to 8 weeks. Edit changes must be in writing and requested no later than two weeks after you pick up.

Q. What if I just wanted to cut out one tiny interview is it still $180 an hour?
A. Yes. Unlike film which can quickly be cut and spliced together, digital video requires re-capturing footage and often numerous time consuming adjustments.

Q. Must I really submit these requests in writing?
A. Yes, and as soon as possible. When writing, refer to the bride & groom by name and note the wedding date. U.S. Postal Service is acceptable, but a fax or email is faster.

Remember: editing on some projects can start the day after the wedding, so be quick!
